The Birth of Lord Krishna. -PART-6
The impending prophecy of the Oracle drew near. Devaki and Vasudev were in a whirl not knowing how they could save the babe from the wrath of the merciless king Kans.
At the stroke of midnight when everything was quiet and still Devaki could not handle the agony of yet another separation after nine long years of waiting.
The first cry of the babe was loud and shrill in the silence of the night. The dark dingy prison was illuminated with a blinding light that appeared like thousands of Suns had risen altogether. It was so bright with a halo that Devaki fainted and Vasudev was mesmerised. "The Saviour of Mankind" was born.
It was a very unusual as there was no joy no laughter, no smiles, no happiness or jubilation. Vasudev could not bear to see his beloved son being welcomed to the world in such a strange way. He was helpless.
Soon he heard the same voice of the Oracle which bade him to take his son to Gokul to his dear friends house of Nanda Dev and Yashoda and bring back the baby girl who had just been born before the break of Dawn.
The blinding light disappeared and the prison was enveloped with darkness once again.
Vasudev had no time to think or wait.He had to just leave.
As soon as the babe was wrapped in a cloth, laid in a basket and as he carried his son on his head his heart sank as Devaki did not even have a glimpse of her new born "Divine" son. Devaki still was unconscious.
Vasudev was worried how he would slip out of the prison unnoticed. At that time the prison doors opened by itself, the heavy guards were in a hypnotic sleep and Vasudev stealthly slipped out to leave for Gokul.
