King Kans visits the Prison. -PART -8
As  soon as King Kans heard the birth of Devaki's eigth child he was sure his days were numbered and couldnt believe the truth of the Oracle's prophecy. He was threatened and couldnt think with reason
as his mind was all in a whirl.
He entered the prison with rage.  He asked Devaki "Where is my nephew who will be the cause of my end"?
He heard Devaki sob. She begged him to spare the life of the baby girl as she was no threat to his life as the prophecy now was knull and void.
Kans gave  a loud roar of laughter. Now he was over joyed. His fears just simply vanished in thin air. He once again felt mighty and powerful. He completely ignored her plea and with all his pride intact he lifted the baby girl to smash her head against the prison walls.

Kans was taken aback. The baby girl escaped his clutches and transformed herself as the mighty  powerful Goddess Durga.
The room was filled with a blinding light which he could not bear to see and so he covered his eyes but his ears were sharp enough to register what the Goddess said"King Kans your slayer is born, safe and living elsewhere.  He will look for you and at the appropriate  time and place He will bring an end to all your heinous crimes and will slay you" and vanished.
From that moment when the blinding light vanished he felt helpless, desolate, lonely and felt the gloom of the truth threatening him now more than before.
He was no more in his senses. He freed his sister and Vasudev. They could finally feel the breath of fresh air and the priceless freedom of life .King Kanas returned back  to his palace in dilemma not knowing where his nephew was growing up and walked with fear of death hanging on him.
He lost his peace of mind, his appetite and his sleep. He felt like a fish out of water.
He ordered his guards to kill all the new born baby boys born at Mathura at that time.He continued to be ruthless as ever.
King Kans, felt his power, ego, and the pride of being the mightiest ruler of Mathura being squashed.
To the people of Mathura he was mighty and powerful  but "Within "himself  he felt his will, greed and ego completely shattered. He became" as fragile as glass and as meek as a lamb"
