Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan.(1888_1975)
Dr S. Radhakrishnan was an icon for education and teaching therefore his birthday on 5thSeptember is celebrated as "Teacher'sDay. 
He was the First Vice President of India between 1962 to 1967.He then became the2nd President of India between 1962 -1967. 
He was awarded the "BHARAT RATNA" the highest Civilian Honour as he was an Outstanding  Teacher,Philosopher,and Statesman. 
He passed away on 17th April 1975.
