Devaki's Trpidation.
Devaki was the only daughter of the benevolent King Ugarasen and her brother was Kans. She grew up with lots of love, affection and enjoyed the very best of life.  She was very beautiful, always happy, and full of life. Every one and her beloved father prayed she would always remain happy and prosperous.
Preparations were in galore for the impending wedding of Devaki to Vasudev who belonged to the Yadav dynasty. The whole town was eager to see the most awaited celebration except her father who was imprisoned in a dungeon in the palace.
The wedding was a lavish one to be remembered for  a long time.to come. As the newly wed were approaching the palace a loud and clear voice of the oracle cut short the joy and happiness that prevailed.Devakis eigth child would be the slayer of the treacherous Kans.
It was too much for Kans to digest this fact and with rage he drew his sword to kill his sister.
Vasudev pleaded for the life of his newly wedded bride and promised to hand over all the children Devaki bore so that the prophecy could become knull and void.
Thus began the dark spell of Devakis and Vasudev's life. A indescribable  sorrow overtook the joy that just prevailed a few minutes ago.
Devaki from that day knew she would only be able to cherish her husbands love and loyalty and not the bliss of seeing her children  be alive to be cherished.
After nine long years and losing seven children to the wrath and merciless brutality of Kans she felt the trepidation more now because of the prophecy.  She knew now that this birth could be also squashed if this child could not be saved on time.
The day drew closer.  Anxiety and fear swelled up her agonised heart.  Tears rolled down her cheeks.  She felt helpless and crestfallen. Vasudev's silence reflected his agony.
The whole town were in turmoil not knowing how the prophecy  would work or would it be another child sacrificed?
Thus no one  could comfort or be a solace to the couple who have been through this, time and time again.
Devaki just frevently prayed for the childs safety. She was inconsolable.
The bright morning Sun brought new hopes to everyone  in the town and everyone prayed  that Devaki and Vasudev be spared of their agony and the child would be saved. Every one hoped a "Miracle" would happen and King Kans be granted his penalty for his treacherous atrocities.
